Wenke Zhang

Professor

Wenke Zhang received his PhD from Jilin University in 2002. From 2003 to 2007, he conducted postdoctoral research in the School of Pharmacy and the School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham. He has been a professor at Jilin University since 2007.

His research focuses on single-molecule force spectroscopy and its applications to polymers in condensed states, nanomedicine delivery, and polymer mechanochemistry. His work has appeared in Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, CCS Chemistry, Macromolecules, and other journals.

He received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2015. In 2017, he was selected as a leading young and middle-aged researcher under the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Innovative Talent Promotion Program, and in 2018 as a leading researcher under the Ten Thousand Talents Program. He has led projects under the NSFC’s National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Program (open application category) and General Program, among others. He serves on the editorial boards of Chinese Journal of Polymer Science, Polymer, Giant, and Langmuir.

Yu Song

Associate Professor

Yu Song is an associate professor in the College of Chemistry at Jilin University. He received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Jilin University in 2013 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research there. He has held his current position since September 2020. His research interests include the nanomechanics of polymer materials, glass-transition dynamics in ultrathin polymer films, and the self-assembly of conducting polymers.

Wei Zhang

Associate Professor

Wei Zhang was born in Changchun, Jilin Province. She received her PhD from Jilin University in 2012 and subsequently conducted drug-delivery research in the School of Pharmacy at the University of South Australia. She joined the College of Chemistry at Jilin University in 2018. Her research interests include the design of drug-delivery carriers, biomolecular interactions studied by AFM-based single-molecule force spectroscopy, and biomedical hydrogels.

Ziwen Ma

Postdoctoral Researcher

Ziwen Ma is a postdoctoral researcher in the College of Chemistry at Jilin University, working with Professor Wenke Zhang. He received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Jilin University in 2023. His research focuses on polymer mechanochemistry and nanoscale infrared spectroscopy, including coupled single-molecule force spectroscopy–infrared spectroscopy (SMFS–IR), mechanically stable anchoring strategies at organic–inorganic interfaces, and force-responsive polymer materials.
